A case of B-cell Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia with Mu Chain Disease

Abstract

|
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia is a generalized malignancy of the lymphoid tissues
affecting the small lymphocytes.
The incidences of the CLL are very low in Far East, however, that of western, very
high.
Anomalous monoclonal proteins occur in the sera of 3 to 5 percent of patients with
CLL, Mu chain disease have been described in a few patients.
Recently we experienced a case of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia associated
with mu chain disease who proved by bone marrow biopsy, lymphocyte surface marker
studies and serum immunoelectrophoresis.
She received chemotherapy including chlorambucil and prednisolone with clinical
improvement.
A case of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia associated with mu chain disease is
reported with review of the literatures.
